IntroductionI grew up in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes! Also, go Vikings! I lived in a small town of about 650 people, and we had one stop light at the casino entrance. I lived there for 25 years, until one summer, I had decided it was time to move on. I was in total culture shock when I got to Austin and still am. And wow, the traffic is awful. And like all the other non-native Texans, I got sucked in to stay here too, at least for a while anyways! So while I have been staying here in Texas, I decided it was time to pursue my career in nursing! I decided that I needed a government class; I have absolutely no political background or experience. I haven’t even voted for a president yet for various reasons, but mainly because I knew nothing about who they were. Pretty sad isn’t it, for a 27 year old to have no interest or desire in government politics. As you can imagine, I did very poorly on the civics and current events quizzes. It also comes to no surprise, that my political ideology is disaffected! In taking this class I hope to gain some general knowledge involving governmental issues and an overall generalized idea of how government works.
InterestsI love to go fishing. I have yet to go in the state of Texas. I really do not have a lot of free time right now, so mainly I cruise the internet looking for the cheapest tickets, so I can fly back home to see my family.
Favorite moviesI don’t especially have a favorite movie, but I enjoy anything that makes you hang on by then edge of your seat!
Favorite musicI grew up listening to the Oldies. Now I enjoy just about any kind of music, except country. And, do you know what they say about country music? If you play if backwards, you get your house, your wife, and your dog back!
Favorite booksI enjoy reading all different kinds of books, but my absolute favorite author is James Patterson (Women's Murder Club Series). However, Nicholas Sparks writes a very good story too.
