| Introduction | Some people might describe my apartment as 'quirky', with its afterthought of a deck, aqua tiled bathroom, and roll-out vinyl wood-patterned floor. Others might say it 'has character', because of the exposed brick and thick wall-to-wall blue marble patterned carpet (see pictures). Considering everything works fine, it stays warm in the winter, cool(ish) in the summer, and we don't have any weird pest problems, it's a dream apartment. At $700 a month for 2 bedrooms and a deck, I'm certainly not complaining. Aesthetically, however, it is certainly bizarre. A long, strange string of life events pieced themselves together, and I recently bought this building. It is time for this caterpillar to become a butterfly-- that is, if I can figure out how to pull it off. |
