| Introduction | I'm a Midshipman in NROTC at Penn State University, Marine Option. I come from a little neighborhood in Maryland; no one's ever heard of it and none of my friends actually lived in that vicinity. Montpelier Community is across the street, so I spent a lot of my time crossing over Muirkirk Road, dodging cars and trying not to lose my flip flops. I swam for 12 years, didn't apply for a swimming scholarship for college, and promptly stopped swimming once I came to school. I've forgotten what it's like not to smell like chlorine. I work out basically every day, sometimes twice a day depending on our PT schedule. I sneeze at least 4-6 times in a row. Hannah and Allyssa are my roommates, my best friends, my soul-mates, my other halves, my buddies, my pals. Growing up, I used to read those children's books like "Caddie Woodlawn", "Betsy and Tacy", "Anne of Green Gables" and they all had this theme of two little girls who meet in rather unremarkable times; they see eye-to-eye almost immediately. They grasp hands, giggling, and scamper off to embark on a number of adventures and experiences. I think Anne summarizes this phenomenon as having found a "kindred spirit." |
| Interests | I'm a runner. It's entertaining when you can flex your quadriceps and your jeans rip in half. I used to be an amazing eater. It got so bad that food eventually started hiding from me. I read, though not so much when I'm at school, unless you count textbooks, and even then that's not reading...that's staring blankly at a page hoping the knowledge will miraculously travel from the page to your brain. Sleep's not too unpleasant; I suppose you can call that an interest. Let's see, what else? Swimming, taking a smelly cab to the movies on a saturday night, doing homework while listening to pandora and drinking tea from the microwave, snow, buying new sweatshirts, and drinking coffee. |
