Introduction	IMPORTANCE OF OCEANS Oceans cover two-thirds of the surface of the earth. Hold 97% of the earths water and contain 99% of the living space on earth. Produce over half of the oxygen we breath while removing carbon from the atmosphere. Oceans also help regulate Earth's climate,are used for means of transportation, mined for minerals, and used by humans for recreation.
