| Introduction | I kind of tell everyone new in my life right away about my story. It sometimes does me more harm than good, but, what can I say, I’ve survived. However, I think it helped me to constantly tell my story. After being served a slice of life’s pie we’re like a new piece of wood. That wood is covered in splinters and hurts if we touch it. Then that wood slowly gets sanded down until it doesn’t hurt to touch anymore. That sanding down of our pain might happen with the help of a friend, the slow pass of time, or, for me, constantly talking about it. A lot of us have been through something that haunts us; something that hurts. We have to take shameless ownership of our pain from our stories in order for it to subside. So, this is my story. |
