| Introduction | Welcome to Character's Corner! This is my fourth year teaching third grade, my second year teaching in Chicago, and my first year teaching at Dumas. Before I lived in Chicago, I lived and taught in New York City. One thing I've learned from teaching in several different states at several different schools is the importance of reading! If a child is interested in and a capable reader all other subjects will be much less of a challenge. An easy, fun, but important way for students to improve as readers is to think deeply about their characters as they get to know them. That is the purpose of Character's Corner, I hope you enjoy. |
