Introduction	I grew up in Richmond California area in the 1940's and 1950's. I developed an early love of movies and a fascination with the area's movie theaters which were rapidly disappearing due to the end of Richmond's wartime boom town economy and resulting decline in population as well as the rapidly increasing popularity of television. I left the Richmond area immediately after graduation from high school in 1958 but over fifty years later just for my own information and amusement I decided to do some research to find out what the story was behind these by now mostly forgotten theaters…and that's what this blog or informal history is all about. If anyone else finds something of interest here I'm pleased. Comments, additional information about the theaters and corrections to any of my unintentional errors are always welcome!
