Introduction	My name is Heather. This is my 15th year in education. I’m not sure how that happened. I was twenty like two seconds ago. Now, all my movie references are outdated. Inconceivable! I’ve taught ESL overseas, middle school, high school, and have been at Texas State Technical College for 8 years. Education was always my back-up plan in case my other career aspirations didn’t work out, but I’ve discovered that sometimes what we think we want is not what would make us happy. I have enjoyed this education-as-a-career season of my life, knowing that life is a great experiment in opportunity and risk, goals and challenges. And, as C.S. Lewis noted, “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” Professionally, the last few years, I’ve been focusing on online education, so I am continuing my doctoral work in educational technology.
