Introduction	At the age of five, apprehensive if I could balance my bike on two wheels by myself, my Dad let go of the bike saddle in secret, and let me ride to the end of the street and shouted "you did it". I was so scared and surprised that I fell over, and started to cry, but when my Dad and sister began to laugh, I realized I was ok and had done it in my own. This was the first in many adventures on the bike, and although I did not know it at the time, the bike would be with me for many years to come
