Occupation Writer
Location Pecs, Just below the Mecsek hills, Hungary
Introduction I'm an expat writer living and traveling in/out of Pecs, Hungary, with my husband (David Rozgonyi, best author I know, incandescent storymaster, next big thing). I've written 1 book, Logodaedely, or Sleight-of-Words: a dictionary of the imagination, consisting of brief fictions & meditations to match 160 obscure, antiquated, otherwise curious words from the OED. I’m writing a novel, Decoherence, about astronomy, love, & death; a process heartsplitting, fun, terrifying. I'm the daughter of an extraordinary astrophysicist & a brilliant librarian. My brothers are heroes. In 2007 I graduated from CO State University, a happily useless BA in writing & philosophy of science. I have been lucky to visit some neat places: perched on an Albanian bunker, lived out of a VW in an Adriatic fjord, seen Siberia under a solar eclipse, napped on Irish cliffs, eaten unknown fruit in Cambodia, danced on Turkish ferries, & got married in a Buddhist temple in Burma. I think all people are wondrous. After a car accident & 2 brain surgeries, I have a question-mark-shaped scar, bad depth perception & double vision. I like to think of these as incidental metaphors.
Interests I write, mostly, and I'm into the philosophy of science because I can't do anything with it at all, and I make useless collages, and write, and read.
Favorite Movies I made a shrine to the Blues Brothers, and at times wish reality conformed to the laws of spontaneous song, like in Singing in the Rain.
Favorite Music Paul Simon is better than anyone else who sings, but I also dig Bowie and Ani Difranco, Ella Fitzgerald and Stephane Grappelli and Anita O'Day, and shamefully CKY (why?), and my little brother's band
Favorite Books Pale Fire (Vladimir Nabokov), The Rings of Saturn (W. G. Sebald), Invisible Cities (Italo Calvino), many many many many more...
