About me

Introduction A writer for his entire adult life, Mitch was diagnosed with young-onset Alzheimer's in June 2015. At first, of course, the news was devastating, but within days he had a new purpose in life. Since he had to leave his job as an editor and reporter, he would now have time to fulfill his lifelong dream of writing whatever he wanted -- while also not needing to earn money. He started this blog as part of his new life. Mitch passed away on Christmas morning 2021. If you'd like to read more of his writing, his books "The Clandestine Novelist," "The Destiny of Salmon," and "A Geography of Peril" are available at Village Books, Bellingham WA, or on Amazon. A collection of short stories (some previously published in literary journals) that Mitch had put together pre-diagnosis will also come out at some point. Watch for more blog posts, as well, about his final years. ... And THANK YOU, dear reader, for reading Mitch's blog and his books, and for keeping his voice alive. -PW
