Introduction Many moons ago, Miss Christy Aguirre worked as a Shoe Store Manager of the Los Gatos Shoe Works and later with Mervyn’s Department Stores as a Visual Arts Coordinator. Her first library job was as a circulation clerk for the Los Gatos Public Library. Christy got her BA in Philosophy @ SCU and then an MA in Philosophy at SJSU. As a grad student, she taught 2 introductory courses: Intro to Philosophy & Intro to Logic & Critical Thinking. She was President of the San Jose Bay Area Intercollegiate Philosophy Club for over 11 years. She also has an MLIS from SJSU during which she interned with both Books for Little Hands & Partners in Reading Literacy Programs @ the Martin Luther King, Jr. Main Library. She helped open San Jose Public Library's Main Branch (a joint academic & public library) while working in Collection Development & Technical Services and then went on to help open the new Rose Garden Library as a YS Librarian. After becoming engaged and moving to Davis, CA Miss Christy became the Children's Librarian for SPL's Elk Grove Library. She has now successfully helped open three new libraries including the New Elk Grove Library.
Interests reading, cooking, Pilates, Becrum Yoga, WII fit, music, theatre performances, and collecting costumes.
