| Introduction | I have been renovating, designing and painting as a hobby since my parents let me loose with paint stripper and an orbital sander at the age of about 12. There's nothing I like more than a good "Before & After" and where better to start than with trash? I have the good fortune, though, of being married to someone who is quite neat and who does not want pieces of junk lying around our home. I once rescued a swiveling, rocking, baby blue, upholstered arm chair which sat in our house about a year awaiting its transformation before my husband put it back at the curb. Since then I have been suppressing the urge to trash trawl. Who has time for that when you’re raising a family? But now I have a place to hide my “projects” from my husband and am just a couple of years away from having an empty nest so I’m back out there. I hope you enjoy seeing the transformations as much as I enjoy making them happen. |
