| Introduction | Hello, thanks for visiting. This is my place to post my mom's favorite recipes. Her recipes are currently on age-worn index cards that are about 40 years old, and they need to get in digital format before they turn to dust. In the photo, I am the little one (that's me about 3 decades ago) with my Mom and Nana. If my Mom went to a dinner party and loved a certain dish, she did not leave without that recipe in hand. Most of these recipes were pilfered from other peoples' cooking. Since she married into an Italian immigrant family, and is from an Italian-American family herself, she had plenty of people to take from. But really, she would seek out recipes from anyone, friend or family, who served an exceptional dish. There is good variety in the scope of her savory recipes, and not surprisingly, about a third of her recipes are cakes. She loves cake and has a relentless sweet tooth, so dessert is essential here. These recipes are time-tested, many of them being decades old, and still delicious. I hope you enjoy them as we have. |
