| Interests | The name Cannesanite should be read the same as Canaanite – a person from Canaan; Canaan is a geographical region which lies today in the vicinity of Israel and the Palestinian territories. Canaan can be easily described as the Holy Land, as according to the Judeo-Christian theology. Cannesanite is a pun aimed at turning Cannes into Canaan – making it *my* Holy Land. Cannes, a place most famous for its international film festival symbolises the cradle of the international film culture, which covers not only the films themselves, but the operational methods of the film market, film promotion and sales as well as production process and distribution. The aim of this blog is to cover all of these things bit by bit. I will begin with reviewing the films and I will eventually expand onto more film market-oriented articles. The blog will also cover all film festivals that I attend throughout the year, making Festival de Cannes the most celebrated of them all. There is no other festival quite like Cannes, therefore as a Cannesanite I will try to make it my year-to-year pilgrimage. |
