| Introduction | I just finished walking 550 miles from my home in Ferndale, California, south to my daughter's apartment in San Luis Obispo. I feel that God gave me this idea and opportunity to do three things- raise money for a small group of rescued children in Honduras, build my faith in God, and build my courage. I went on a short mission trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, in June 2010. I met and fell in love with the 10 children (ages 5 to 16) who Bob and Joyce Coder rescued just over a year ago. The children were found in an orphanage where they were regularly sexually and physically abused. The Coders gained legal custody of the children and then provided a house and loving home for these children there in Honduras, where they currently live. Recently three of the children were ordered to be returned to their mother, so now the number of children is seven. In the Coders I observed faith, courage, and commitment in action like I have never seen before. |
