Introduction	Hello, and thank you for visitng my blog where I discuss ideas about humanity and culture, the arts, some politics and economics, and some current events. I grew up in a well-educated home where Dad was an English teacher and headmaster of private schools in the east, and Mom was a devoted stay at home parent, always trying to expand our horizons. I had four siblings (one is now deceased), and I remain in regular contact with them. I'm now 70, a former Christian having converted from "nothing" to Roman Catholicism in my teens, married when I was 19 in college, and had 9 children with Rebecca, my wife of 38 years, before we divorced in 2011. Since then I've had Leukemia, a bone marrow transplant, spine surgery, almost died twice, and found my wife Olga. We live on a small ten acre farm near Ann Arbor where we raise a specialty breed of "broody" chickens which Olga developed, and raise exotic flowers and cats foir sale.
