Introduction	I am the mother of 8 children, all of whom have developed significant musical talent. I have taught violin since my teens. About 20 years ago I wrote a book called "How to Get Your Child to Practice ... Without Resorting to Violence." It continues to do well among parents and teachers who wish to improve on the typical struggle confronting those who would help young people learn musical discipline. Recently my excitement has been invested in developing a string curriculum based on the concepts of Zoltan Kodaly. This approach fills in the gaps that I have found in other methods and helps young people to become "complete musicians."
