| Introduction | ME is a debilitating illness otherwise known as CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). It causes flu-like tiredness of the muscles and the mind. It makes the eyes sore, the ears hurt and the throat ache. There is only a 5-10% chance of recovery and it is an illness for life. The most effective treatment is not a cure but an energy management system called 'pacing'- planning day-to-day in an attempt to make sure not too much energy is spent. I do not have ME and I certainly wouldn't want it. |
