| Introduction | Before I found my "dream job" as a school librarian, I fought--I mean taught--in the trenches of the high school English classroom for 11 years; I still consider myself a TEACHER. I spent four wonderful years as the librarian at Shaw Elementary, which is actually where I attended school, but I felt the urge to work with teens again, so I made the move to Mesquite High School, where I am starting my first year as one of the librarians. I am a proud Skeeter grad, Class of 1993 (crazy but true). I believe the library should be the heart of a school--a warm, inviting place where students catch the excitement for reading and learning. |
