Introduction	Gordon Fisher is an electrical Designer based in the UK. He currently leads Greenwatts Systems, a Mechanical and Electrical Consulting Engineer, with a special focus on small scale 'renewable' technologies which can provide a 'best fit' engineered solution. In addition to this he works as a part-time Teaching Fellow in Electrical Power and Lighting Design, at Heriot-Watt University, Riccarton, near Edinburgh. Outside of work his interests include practical environmental conservation work and travel. He is passionate about the many benefits that volunteering brings both to the individual Volunteer - in terms of raised self esteem, often improved health and a sense of purpose - and to immediate and wider communities where volunteering is found. He also has a keen amateur interest in politics, economics and culture. This blog is an attempt to bring these interests together into a coherent form (!?), through the medium of a travelogue.
