| Interests | I am a stay at home empty nester. I have a beautiful, but average home which my husband and I bought four years ago, and have almost completely remodeled. At the time, I thought I wanted modern style...previous homes I have had Victorian, primitive and even mid century modern. Now I find I miss looking for flea market finds, and having "old junk" around me. So, I am off to redecorate! I am creating this blog because I wish to redecorate my modern style home near the Gulf Of Mexico, on East Bay, built in 1969. Where I live I am surrounded by water. My backyard backs up to a pond with an island, and the front of our home faces the Bayou. East Bay is connected to the Bayou, and the Gulf is just a short distance. The smell of salt water is always in the air. I would like to create a shabby, cottage beach look, and I know there are many fellow decorators out there! I love Pottery Barn and others, and of course flea market decorating. I have been designing and creating for many years, and I would like to share my love of decorating,thriftily, with others! I can't see paying a small fortune for an item, when I can make it myself for a fraction of the cost, and have the satisfaction of doing it myself. Although....I have been known if I see an item I ABSOLUTELY fall in love with, I WILL buy it regardless if I can make it or not! LoL |
