| Introduction | Any artist can tell you that becoming involved in the creative process is akin to meditation and prayer, whether they are religious, spiritual, or non-believing. This is why I create and why I cannot stop creating. I experiment with new techniques, different colors, and materials so that I become greater as an artist and as a spiritual entity. I'm drawn to materials that differ (ie. metal with fabric) but when worked together, create an almost mythological harmony. Turquoise is my favorite color as it represents to me spiritual attainment, happiness, self-awareness, healing, intuition, creativity, and the work of reflective nautical dreams. I create from a spontaneous impression of materials and colors, allowing them to work their own magic. The word "magic" is a beautiful way of seeing art. I want an element of magic to imbue every piece I create, which is why I do not bog myself down with repetitive work. Art should be inspiring, not a cliche. |
