Introduction	I believe. I think that humanity can elevate itself above the pathetic state it is in. I don't think governments can do it, and at times I'm not sure they can even help. I think this way because of the facts of history. I think individuals are the saviors and that if we first save ourselves others will benefit.
Interests	Fathering, loving, Buddhism, cycling, backpacking, hiking, teaching, traveling.
Favorite movies	The Big Lebowski, anything with the following actors, Harvey Keitel, Harry Dean Stanton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, Bill Murray, and others.
Favorite music	The Grateful Dead first and foremost, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Michael Franti, Willie Nelson. I also like Bluegrass and some hip hop like De la Soul.
Favorite books	I teach literature so this is tough. I like Edward Abbey, John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dostoevsky,Tom Robbins, Christopher Moore and many others. My Masters thesis is over Chuck Palahniuk
