Introduction I am a thinker, a Black Christian thinker. Although I have attended a couple of good universities (University of North Carolina at Asheville and Calvin College)and have taken several high level humanities courses, most of my intellectual formation has been through self teaching. Despite formal training in english, history, philosophy and religion I am more of an autodidact intellectual.I have always been interested in a multiplicity of disciplines. My faith formation began an early age in the Black American Pentecostal tradition. For a long time my identity as a thinker and my identity as a person of faith were separate in my mind. Thanks to the Reformed tradition, I have come to see that the whole universe belongs to God, including the universe of the mind. Therefore, I am seeking to use my intellectual gifts and faith commitment to develop a holistic understanding of life, both personal and societal.I am convinced that the good life must be beneficial to the spirit, soul and body and I seek to reflect this in theological reflection on the basic issues that confront my life through the lens of my Black Christian intellectual experience.
