| Introduction | A journalist for more than 30 years, Kathryn Jones most recently was the editor of the Glen Rose Reporter. She has been a writer under contract for The New York Times and is a contributing editor and former writer-at-large for Texas Monthly magazine. Jones was named Journalist of the Year in 2011 and 2010 by the West Texas Press Association and in 2010 received the Nancy Monson Freedom of Information Award from the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and the Texas Press Association for "outstanding effort in promoting open government." She also has been honored with first place awards for news writing, news photography, column writing, feature writing and headline writing. She teaches media writing at Tarleton State University. |
