About me

Gender Male
Occupation English teacher
Location Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture
Introduction I currently live in Utsunomiya, Japan, about half-way between the Fukushima nuclear disaster and Tokyo. I teach at a university where many of my students are from areas affected by the disaster of 3/11/11. I feel blessed that my interests in the environment, language and community have meshed so nicely into my new life. I am surrounded by positive enthusiastic folks engaged in thinking globally and acting locally. My purpose for this blog is to comment on what catches my senses, emotions and intellect and present them in a way that makes sense to me, an American, still curious about the outside world. I look forward to the experiences that lie ahead and hope that my writing can do justice to the ideas constantly percolating in my head.
