| Introduction | The Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur successfully organized the 3rd Annual Meeting of SEAPHEIN, September 26-28, 2007 in Jaipur. It was also the first ever SEAPHEIN meet in India. Recently, IIHMR, Jaipur also organized Workshop on Improving Public Health Education and Training in Public Health Education Institutions in India, July 29-31, 2009 with support of WHO India Country Office, New Delhi. The deliberations held during the workshop were very meaningful and productive in giving direction to quality education, especially in the upcoming areas of public health. As an outcome of this workshop, the Indian chapter of SEAHPEIN, India Public Health Education Institution Network (IndiaPHEIN) has been established and announced in the workshop. All the delegates agreed to be members of the IndiaPHEIN and agreed that initially the secretariat of the IndiaPHEIN would be at IIHMR, Jaipur. |
