Introduction	Michael Maher is currently a freelance photographer and a former newspaper photojournalist with the Lowell (Ma.) Sun, where he was twice named New England Newspaper Photographer of the Year. He has won numerous photojournalism awards from the National Press Photographers’ Association, Associated Press, Boston Press Photographers’ Association, and New England Press Association. His photographs have been published by major news wire services, newspapers, and photography books. His photographs also appeared in an HBO special, “Curse of the Bambino”, a history of the Boston Red Sox. A gallery of his top photos can be found at "maherphotos.com".
