| Introduction | I am fairly new to backyard birding. My interest was piqued last summer when birds used to frequent the old bird feeder our tenant had left behind. When this feeder broke down, we had to replace it and we added a hummingbird feeder as well and soon enough we had these lovely birds visiting our backyard too. Since then, watching these birds has become a great source of joy and a stress buster! Even the dreariest day is made cheerful by these lovely visitors. We live in the suburbs of Northern Virginia. In this past year, we have had 30 or more species of birds in my backyard and my immediate neighborhood. As I work on creating a wildlife friendly habitat in my yard, I will share my progress here in this blog. |
