| Introduction | An avid cook from Eastern Appalachian Mountains. I have always liked to eat at a restaurant and then copy the food I have ate. I also love to write about the funny things that happens in our family.Believe me, we really have plenty of funny drama in ours. One of my great joys was getting to meet Paula Deen and Christy Jorden, my favorite people. We all love the way they cook and how friendly they are to all the people they meet. That is just part of being southern. I love to collect cookbooks and try different recipes from them. We have many churches we visit as our family sings.We are always getting new recipes from the people we meet and from our family homecomings. I also love yard sales, you never know what you will find. This is where I get a lot of my cookbooks at. A lot of times I will find hand written recipes in them or clippings from the person whom they belonged to and to me you get to know what they liked to fix. I love making any type of southern dishes as that is what I grew up with. |
