| Introduction | I am writing a book about living in a remote Himalayan village in the 1990s. It is partly the story of village life, from the spiritual landscape to the intricacies of agricultural reciprocity; partly a showcase of village myths and stories; and partly a memoir of the resonances and disjunctures between things I knew in my bones from childhood and things I learned in the mountains of Nepal. |
