About me

Location Anchorage, Alaska, United States
Introduction Jen is originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where her folks (Kathy and Dick Burger) still live. She went to college at University of St.Thomas in St.Paul, Minnesota where she majored in "Pre-Med" and "Justice and Peace Studies." After undergrad, she did AmeriCorps VISTA volunteering in Sitka, Alaska for the year. This is where and when she fell in love with both the state of Alaska and her Alaskan man, Chris. Chris is born and raised Alaskan, where his folks (Terry & Erin) still live in Anchorage. His younger brother, Travis, works for Fish and Game in Fairbanks. He went to college for a while at WSU in Washington, then finished up his degree in Elementary Education at University of Alaska Anchorage. Chris and Jen then FINALLY lived in the same place when they both moved to Portland, Oregon for Jen to do medical school. They lived on their boat for 4 years while there, first a tugboat and then a sailboat. Chris worked at REI in Portland. After a wonderful life as live-aboards in Portland, they shoved off for a 2 month cruise up the Inside Passage to Alaska. They now live in Anchorage, Alaska; where Jen is a Family Medicine resident and Chris works at REI.
