| Introduction | Victoria Heather, Victoria Bruce and Kate Kelly are pseudonyms for a female Australian journalist and communications professional working in Burma/Myanmar. A former nurse, an interest in advocating human rights and social issues led her to spending five weeks in Burma and along the Thai border in December 2011 - January 2012. During this time she met with various displaced Burmese who allowed her to share their stories as a freelance journalist. Her articles were published on the Burmese dissident website, Democratic Voice of Burma, leading Cambodian English daily newspaper, the Phnom Penh Post, and featured in the World section of the Sydney Morning Herald. She has worked for renowned wire service Australian Associated Press (AAP), Queensland daily, The Courier-Mail and is a former media adviser for the Queensland Government Department of Health. She is 27 years old. |
