| Introduction | I am a writer/passionate home cook who is a nutrition aficionado. I grew up in New England, which means I can withstand mother nature's fickle moods. My mother and grandmothers have influenced my passion in food, in my Christian faith, and in writing. I have always written in some form or another. It wasn't until I really got into cooking that my passion for writing was reignited. When I think of a dish or read a recipe I can imagine what it will look like. I immediately start to break down the ingredients and the cooking times for each one. Whether I am in the supermarket or washing dishes at the kitchen sink I am dreaming up new recipes. I created this blog to write about the recipes I have tried and the nutrition I have researched. This is also a place to honestly discuss my weight loss journey. Those closest to me know Sarah Jenkins is not my real name, but my pen name. I use Jenkins in honor of my grandmother, a fellow writer who taught me how to look at life through a writer's magnifying glass. |
