| Introduction | Rae Shagalov is a Jewish artist, writer and master calligrapher, currently living in Los Angeles, who has been developing and refining her craft for over 20 years. She has attended hundreds of classes on Jewish wisdom, taught by many of the leading teachers of our time in the United States and Israel. She has a unique talent of creating, on the spot, a calligraphic artwork that gives over the essence of the deep wisdom that was taught in each class, in a beautifully distinctive and intriguing way. Most of the pages are also illustrated with engaging sketches of Jewish culture and a unique style of graphic interpretation of Jewish mysticism that the artist calls, "spiritual architecture." Artist's Statement "Any mistakes contained herein are my own. Although the pages of my notebooks artistically capture some of the deep Torah insights of these master teachers of Jewish wisdom and spirituality, my notes cannot convey the warmth, caring, humor, incredible stories and intellectual challenge you will experience when you hear them directly from them, in person or on tape." |
