| Introduction | I was born in Santiago - Chile from a loving couple Jorge and Olga Bendezu. My dad was from Peru. My mom was from Chile. At the age of eight my entire family moved to Peru. I got an international scholarship from The American Field Service and spent 11 months living with an american family (The Mellotts) from Waynesboro, Pa. Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from BYU, went back to Peru and graduated as a Medical Technologist from Sam Marcos University. I got married to Jose Velez and had my first child in 1981 Ligia (girl). In 1985 immigrated to USA while pregnant of my 2nd girl Gioconda, she was born soon after arriving in USA, continue going to school to become a nurse, the same year I graduated as a nurse, my first son was born. We named him J. Mauricio. I did not want Mauricio to be raised alone. So I wanted another little boy for him to play with. But we had Tiffany (girl) in 1991. They became partners in crime. I have two adorable grandkids, Orion and Chrysalis 2 years and 3 month-old respectively. My son J. Mauricio is getting ready to go on a mission for the LDS Church (Mormon) |
