OccupationScribbling, trying to remember what I did yesterday.
LocationPenang, Malaysia
IntroductionI'm Irish, Irish parents etc. fled the country at 2 weeks old, travelled, ended up in Aust.at 5, back to Ireland, back to Aust. New Zealand, Aust, and now Penang! Married, a few? times till I got it right by being found by my childhood love, we have been back together and married for 15 years. Between us, from our previous lives, we have 4 children, 10 g/children and 1 great grandson at last count, many of which do not speak to us, but its O.K. to elope if your 19 but not if your 50, but this is the happy hand that fate delt us and if you want to know more, then you will have to read the stories, (er, I have been taken to task re the use of the word 'story' as a friend, much more learned than yours truly, that it may be better described as reminicing!) about my life, lives of others who came and went and especially the animals that were always part of it. Not neccessarily in order, just the order that they come to me, and as I left school at 13, thank God for Spellcheck! A professional con man for a Dad and and a ditzy blonde for a Mother, how could it be boring? So from time to time I will put up a random story/recollection....
InterestsMeeting people visiting Penang who want to know the Penang that we know, renovating heritage houses here with my husband, enjoying the endless variety of food and friends every day from the many cultures that call this home and friends are so easy to make here, reading, and thinking how lucky we are to be here where we can afford to live comfortably and not be in Australia wondering if we will outlive our savings and where the biggest decision of day would be, hmm... bingo, bowls and/or the R.S.L.Club discussing who died and who in hospital!
Favorite moviesSherlock Holmes, fantastic!erimiah Johnson, The Right Stuff, anything with Clint Eastwood , too many others, saw Angles and Demons last night, add it to the list!
Favorite musicUnchained melody (of course),some Grover Washington stuff, Drum Suite (Art Blakey), Butterfly Lovers(Takako Nishizaki), the most beautiful piece of violin music ever, and some of the new stuff, but not much! Russell Watson on a good day, The Clancy Bros....
Favorite booksHow far back should I go? All the old real fairy (scary)stories not the sanitized versions of today no moral values in those, Charlotte's Web, anything by Eric Newby, who-done-its, in fact, what ever is my fad de jour!

Well, maybe they don't need them, but don't you think that some fish might like a bicycle?

This is difficult, as the last conversation I had with Mullet, the subject of bike ownership did not arise. But of course that does not mean that they may not feeled hard done by if ownership is denied them as I am sure that there would be an'expert'and/or a Gov.body who's Sole Purpoise in life would be to further the fishtail rights of the peddaly challenged, but give 'em time..
