Introduction	I'm a geologist in the oil industry, living in the most beautiful Yorkshire Dales, as a geo I tend to get quite a bit of free time, hence the painting. I'm trying to capture the life, the sights and the essence of the place on canvas without being too clichee'd (and sometimes failing). Painting for me is a release, an expression, and to make comments about my 'art' on this blog brings another dimension to my work. I can express how I feel about a piece, rather than have someone interpret it from how I paint.
