| Introduction | Andrew Barbour & Louise Orlando are freelance writers and editors. In a fit of stunning stupidity, the Orlando-Barbour clan launched on a five-month trip to Latin America in 2008-2009. We pulled Graham and Katharine out of school for the year (how else to pay for the trip?) and attempted to homeschool them. This surely will condemn them to a life as call-center operators. Starting with a 1000-mile drive from the Eastern Shore to Miami, we travel first to Panama for five days, followed by two months in Argentina, a month in Ecuador, finally wrapping up our journey in Costa Rica. |
