Introduction	I began my law enforcement career in 1985 as a reserve police officer volunteering his time to serve the citizens of Shawnee. I was hired as a regular, full-time police officer in 1987. After working as a patrol officer and detective, I was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 1998, Patrol Lieutenant in 2000, Captain in 2001, to Deputy Police Chief in 2008, and to Police Chief in 2011. I graduated from Mid-America Nazarene University with a B.A. in Management and Human Relations and is a 2002 graduate of the 12th Session of the FBI's Central States Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. My wife, Debbie, and I have been residents of Shawnee since 2003 and both are active in supporting Kansas Special Olympics sporting and fund-raising events.
