About me

Introduction Missing Voices: The point of this blog: You won't find a picture of me here. You won't find a name. I work for the Catholic Church. I am a woman, a scholar, a mother, a teacher, a Catholic. And I have no wish to be censored, or worse, fired, by my employers for voicing free, honest and informed opionions. I have a graduate degree in theology from a prestigious university. I have studied at great length the opinions and lives of men from the western hemisphere. And yet my whole life I have been informed by the wisdom of women, a wisdom that rarely finds a voice in the palaces of bishops, or the pulpits of local churches. I am a woman of the western hemisphere, and almost a decade of living and working in some of the poorest places in the two-thirds world (think Africa), has taught me how little any of us in our corner of the world have gleaned from the experience and knowledge beyond our borders. This is our loss. This blog aims to provide seeds for reflection on those hidden voices and lost experiences. I invite you to listen in, and let your voice be heard.
