| Introduction | I am an athlete. Not a professional athlete or anything like that. You'll probably never see me on ESPN and definitely never on a reality show on E. But I have dedicated myself to health and fitness, setting goals and smashing them, then setting new ones. I have more exercise-specific workout clothes than you do and I am not ashamed of that at all. My laundry hamper is almost always full of stinky, sweaty things that remind me of the challenge I accepted, the endorphins I generated and the results I accomplished. Brightroom has ugly pictures of me and I am proud of them. I have chafed parts of my body I didn't know could chafe. My feet actually like ice. I have tried all the different sports gels and know which ones make me gag and which don't. Because I am an athlete. |
