| Introduction | About me Hi , my name is Jenaka Curtis. I live on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming but my roots are scattered all over this world. I was born in post-war Germany to a Cherokee / German Mother and a Lakota Father. Most of my young years I spend between the vineyards of Rheinland-Pfalz,right by the French border, the Texas Desert on the border to Mexico, and the Missouri Woods. Four Countries and five or six cultures have shaped my life and fed my insatiable hunger for knowledge of anything I could learn. My grandfathers made sure I known about all the things a boy should have known in those days and my grandmothers gave me knowledge of anything that had to be done around the country home. Both had been into herbal healing, except they did not call it that then, it was the way of life then for my grandmother in Germany and a way of living for my grandmother in Missouri. I also had close ties to the Gypsy Community and called one of the old woman Grandmother, she was the one that showed me a lot about Gypsy Lore and the culture in general. Every 12 months, I found myself in a different place, a different culture and a different way of life. |
