Introduction Jesús Lebrón is a gay activist and latino man living with HIV/AIDS since 1992. Born to 1st generation Puerto Rican parents and raised in the South Bronx, Jesús obtained his bachelors degree in Sociology from the College of Staten Island and his Master's from Hunter College School of Social Work. Jesús has worked with various populations, including LGBT families, homeless, and people living with HIV/AIDS. Jesús is Founder of Marriage Equality NY (1998) where he worked in various capacities, including as Co-Chair from 2001 - 2003, and Co-Founder of Marriage Equality USA (2001) and the Civil Marriage Trail Project (2003-present), along with fellow activist Brendan Fay. Among Jesús' other organizing endeavors is his co-founding of Gay & Lesbian Advocates for Change, an adhoc organization that was involved in activist and electoral politics from 1997 to 1999 and Gays Against Bush, an organization that sought to raise awareness against President George Bush and the Republican administration during the Republican National Convention in 2004.
