Introduction	I just love old-time traditional and bluegrass music. There are people so poor and so isolated they can't even read or write their own names, but they can sing, tell stories, and pass this music down generation after generation. This blog is dedicated to them, and to their champions.
Interests	Live music, arts and culture, nonprofit organizations, my kids,the outdoors, exercising, cooking, and sittin' and pickin'.
Favorite movies	Shawshank Redemption, Cold Mountain, American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, Pollock, Apollo 13...and on and on.
Favorite music	Almost everything, but especially acoustic, although I have a favorite symphony or two.
Favorite books	I love good writing and a challenging story. My most recent read was the Philip Pullman series starting with The Golden Compass. Nothing like the stinky movie. I enjoy some Jungian writers -- anything dealing with Shadow and Ego, since I have more than my share of both.

You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?

I don't sing in the shower, but, I do sing in the car. Loudly.
