Introduction	Have you ever dreamed of creating something as long as you can remember? I did for a long time before coming to the realization that if I truly wanted to crochet, I could. I accepted that Rome wasn't built in a day. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new with crochet. Crocheting has been my passion for 38 years. As a young lady, I watched first to see items being made. Then I began helping others to complete items by learning to read the patterns to them. After awhile, the people who I watched and helped became unable to perform this art, and passed on. I feel as if I am now the torch carrier. I have been lucky enough to earn several prizes for my work at the SC State Fair, including First Award for Fancy Work in 2009, and First Award for Fancy Work-Apparel in 2010. This year I won two first prizes, and three second place prizes. Offering my talent at our state fair is both an honor and a reward. A great love of mine is learning new crochet patterns that are fun. Working the ones that I am lucky enough to find in the antique shops are the best because the result is a new item that looks antique.
