About me

IntroductionI am an independent scholar, director of The Terezin Composers Project Foundation, Executive Director of Camp Allegro Wichita, and an arts advocate. The Terezin Composers Project supports research about the lives and works of composers interned in the Theresienstadt/Terezin Ghetto. We present lectures and concerts featuring some of those compositions. I studied German and music history (BA, Georgia State University) and did graduate work in German, translation and linguistics. I received the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wichita State University. I am a member of the National Coalition of Independent Scholars, the German Studies Association, the Conference Group for Central European History, the American Association of Teachers as German as well as several professional music organizations. My research areas focus on the Holocaust, particularly composers and musicians who were persecuted during the Nazi era. Additional research areas include post-war divided Germany and the fall of the Wall as well music during the communist era in the CSSR (present-day Czech Republic).
