Introduction	I am a retired English teacher who has written, or tried to write, poetry since the seventies. I left school aged 15 and worked in the printing industry for 13 years. In the sixties I also worked as a casual labourer. As a married man I studied part-time at the tech. for qualifications which enabled me to study full time. In '85, I took voluntary leave of absence and paid for myself to study for an MA in English literature at Leeds University. Then, I returned to teaching.In retirement I have had three collections of poetry printed. I cycle and walk, and have done so for many years. In the last few weeks I have written several poems concerned with the situation in Gaza. They may well be considered controversial, but I do think they should be read.
