| Introduction | My senior year of college, I tried the 'two weeks for $25' deal at the only studio in proximity to my gym after passing the sign for weeks – some full body stretching to accompany my stringent workout routine. Before this, I had taken a yoga class offered at our gym and strongly disliked it – it lacked both heart and soul. I'm distressed by the abundance of cookie cutter studios that offer a shadow of yoga; these teachers and studios have turned many peers in serious need of yoga away from the experience. I was lucky. I stumbled into a studio of compassionate and dedicated yogis whose teachings resonated far beyond my physical body. I began practicing regularly for the physical benefits and peace of mind, and unknowingly entered a loving journey of healing and transformation. |

| Favorite music | Yoga is not just a practice, but a lifestyle. Accepting and loving yourself is the best way to better the lives of those around you. In that regard, music is my yoga. Categories include but are not exclusive to house (jazzy, funky, minimal, progressive, tech), lounge, ambient/chill-out/trip-hop, world, folk, jazz, classical, experimental, classic rock, various indie groups...anything and everything good. |
| Favorite books | 100 Years of Solitude (magical realism, what a great genre) was the last great book I read. I majored in English and have been influenced by many wonderful books since I could read. I love suggestions so please recommend! |
